WNCC 194 for 8 after 40 overs
Castle Rising 96 all out after 32 overs
WNCC batted first in this 40 over game. We reached 75 for 4 after 20 overs before good contributions from guests Matt Riddington (43) and Tom Rollinson (38) and an impressive 40 not out from club stalwart Richard Thompson lifted the score on an uneven pitch to 194 which looked a reasonable total.
The home side started slowly in their rain affected innings and struggled against the slower bowlers where Eddie Thorne (1 for 10) and Dick Culling (3 for 9) were particularly impressive. After a run out and some steady WNCC bowling as well as the side’s willingness to continue in the rain, Castle Rising were restricted to 96 all out in the 32nd over.
