WNCC show improved performance from the year before
Following last year’s convincing loss, WNCC performed better this year with a tidy bowling attack and some good keeping by James Holden.
We won the toss and batted , with Everall x 2 putting on a good opening stand before James Everall, who stopped a certain 4 from his brother because he could not get out of the way, scoring an aggressive 59.
The batting lost momentum but good performances from Hammond H and Smith (guest supplied by opposition) saw us make a respectable 236, probably 20 to 30 runs short.
The bowling started well and debutant , Robert Wilson, after some inspired captaincy from Fairey to bring him on against their best player, trapped him LBW! Well done Robert , with parents Carolyn and Jamie watching on the boundary.
Despite some good catching , Castle Rising then reached the target with 5 overs to go.
