On Thursday 6th May 2010, the new Captain, Robert Gurney, and his wife, Samantha, kindly invited the membership of WNCC to a pre-season drinks party at Bawdeswell Hall. The aim was to start the season with a Club get together for young and old. We have a new influx of talented young cricketers.
The evening was well attended by the current WNCC Committee, recent tourists to La Manga, who were able to tell their tales of 3 day’s “cricket” in Spain and older Club members and their wives. It was a great cross section.
Robert said a few words about his aspirations for the season ahead and the development of the Club. These were well received and Club President, Jeremy Thompson, replied on behalf of the Club with thanks and good wishes for the season ahead.
A wonderful evening, in a beautiful setting, with a plentiful supply of drinks and delicious canapès courtesy of Samantha Gurney was enjoyed by all present. I look forward to next year!
